1202-1643
Planet Hollywood hotel room Las Vegas. Love the wall/shirt juxtaposition. Photographed with an off camera flash, cropped square for balance.
1202-1639
John Bell on the streets. Cruised downtown with John a few Saturdays back. We spent most of our outing in the pub instead of the streets. In fact, this is my best shot from the day! Oh well, it was fun.

Andersen Construction Office
Andersen Construction's new office is finally open! This project was made from 95% recycled materials most of which were salvaged from construction sites over the past 60 years. This office is bursting with stories and history. Andersen Construction is a place that I am proud to work and I'm excited to share these photos with all of you. This is yet another reason why Andersen is the builder of choice. If you would like to see it in person, let me know and I can set you up with a tour.

Stripes
I'm always drawn to interesting lines and geometry. It is great to find so many similarities in dissimilar things.

Jewelry Shopper
Anticipation.
This guy was waiting for the jewelry store to open. He told me that he won the lottery and he never has to work another day in his life. The leopard print scarf tells it all.

Las Vegas

Portrait in front of Planet Hollywood. Spent 2 nights at Planet Hollywood for my wife's birthday. It was great to get away for a couple days and enjoy some time together.

I thought this was an interesting statue.

The low winter sun at work. I also like the geometry of the stone work.

Trying to use the dragons back as a hat. The Mamiya 7 has parallax though. DOH!

Self-portrait before dinner. We had an amazing meal at Lavo. The Sea Bass is to die for.

This sign is ridiculous. Someone makes too much money by copying designers and ripping off fabricators.

The year of the dragon.

Happy New Year!

Aces wild.

Faux waterfall at the Wynn Casino.

Accidental long exposure goodness.

Architectural details.

Even more architectural details.

Exhaustedly awaiting our flight home.

Photographed with my new 7ii with 65mm lens.

104 weeks, 104 cameras, 1 awesome book

For the past 2 years artist Tony Kemplen has been using a different camera every week and then making a double page spread for this book. It started out as 52 cameras in 52 weeks and eventually turned into a 2 year project. The results are quite good and the photos (particularly the self-portraits in year 2) are humorous. I really like all of the toy cameras used and in my opinion, this book would not be as successful if all of the cameras were the same format with the same type of shots. As a shooter of primarily 6x7 and 4x5 it is refreshing to see all these great shots made with these fun and unique cameras. I highly recommend taking a glance through the preview and picking up a copy if you enjoy it. It really is not about the camera and all about the artist. Good artists will make good art with whatever tools they have. Who thinks he can keep it up for a 3rd year?? That is a lot of cameras!
